Bern is very well connected by train (www.sbb.ch) and the train station is in short walking distance to the conference venues.
Bern does have a tiny international airport with some connections within Europe (Bern Belp Airport). Airports at Zurich, Basel and Geneva are well connected to Bern by train.
Bern is a pedestrian-friendly city, with all important sites within walking distance, but there is also a good system of local public transport ( Bernmobil).
Hotels: Switzerland is expensive, but we've collected some hotel suggestions for you here.
Please don't forget that Switzerland is not part of the Euro currency union. In most places within Switzerland you will be expected to pay in Swiss francs!
