Sabine von Rütte studied English Languages and Literatures and Film Studies at the Universities of Bern and Zurich pursuing her interests in literature, film, media, pop culture and the intersection of gender, race and class. She has received her Master's degree in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Zurich. She is currently a PhD candidate in North American Literature under the supervision of Prof. Gabriele Rippl.

Research Interests

Anglophone literature of the 20th and 21th centuries, feminist theory, race and gender representation in literature and popular culture, memory and identity, narratology, film studies, cultural studies, contemporary postcolonial literatures and postcolonial theory.
