Danielle earned a BA in linguistics, anthropology and German from Victoria University of Wellington, and an MA in sociolinguistics and a PhD in modern English linguistics at the University of Bern. Her research interests lie in sociolinguistics and include English dialectology, language variation and change, language contact, language attitudes, and language policy and planning.
