Laura Wohlgemuth is a doctoral researcher in Language and Communication. She is working on the SNSF-funded project Articulating Rubbish (#100015_215102) which aims to link sociolinguistics and discard studies by examining the role of language in the so-called "crisis of waste.” Her sub-project examines these issues through the lens of material consumption, value negotiation, and waste management in the context of domestic (inter)actions. Her research falls under the domain of sociocultural linguistics and discourse analysis.

Research interests: language materiality; value discourse; language/semiotic ideology; consumption studies; discard studies

Preferred methods: (mediated) discourse analysis of spoken and written language
